Here are 3 basic tips to optimise website content to assist with its searchability on major search engines like Google and Microsoft Bing.

When creating new website articles and content ensure the following 3 basic tips are followed:

  1. The article elements including article heading, meta-tags and descriptions and article content are all aligned.These items are found in your content management system.
  2. To assist search engines use identifying images and descriptive names of an images – Steer away from calling images "image1.jpg image2.jpg" Also ensure you use "Alt Text" which is also found in you content management system.
  3. Monitor and interpreting analytics reports which is found here. Reports can be extensive and understanding what to focus on can vary depending on your desired outcome.

Here is an example of how to align article elements.

Let say you are a company promoting the sale of tickets for Joes Conference.

Article Heading - "Discount on Joes Conference Tickets"

Page Meta-Title - "Discount on Joes Conference Tickets | Events | Company Brand"

Meta Description - "Purchase with Company Brand to take advantage of our discount on Joes Conference Tickets"

Article Content - Write the content ensuring you have the phrase "discount on Joes conference tickets".
